Ten session mood coaching plan

Depression and mood disorders require treatment by experts but these conditions also require a sustainable approach to autonomous self-management. Basically, a multi-pronged approach is needed including good medical care (a great GP and Psychiatrist), supportive relationships, medication for many people and a strategy to manage the good and bad times.

It is the personal strategy that often gets left out of the picture despite it being critical to wellbeing. 

My mood coaching plan is designed to offer structured one-on-one sessions focused entirely on you learning strategies for managing stress, leading a full life and knowing what your mood triggers are and how to plan to manage them.

The content of the ten sessions are planned and individualised and cover the following areas:

  • Lifestyle issues
  • Strategies for symptom management
  • Managing working life
  • Communication skills with health professionals
  • Accepting a diagnosis
  • Plans for challenging times
  • Daily self-care activities
  • Looking at optimal social functioning
  • Mindfulness exercises
